I have lived with pets all my life. My mother passed on the "animal gene" to me. She believed in taking in strays and taught me respect for all creatures. I began volunteering for various animal rescue groups in the Kansas City area back in 1999 and continue to be an active member of the rescue community.
My mother passed on the art gene as well. I can recall how she taught me how to spell my name by drawing a picture for each letter. I have sketched and painting for as long as I can remember. I studied art in college, but then got side tracked into Corporate America. Now I paint in my spare time, usually focusing on pet portraits.
My husband and I share our home with two cats and two dogs (all rescues).
